The Arkos Framework allows the acceptance of card payment whatever the context, the enrivonment and the architecture. The typical Point-Of-Interaction (POI) systems and architectures that can built using the Arkos Framework are:

POI System

Description

Standalone

A POI system where the hardware and software components of the POI are concentrated in a single unit (the POI Terminal), without any correlation with the Sale System other than a user interface for the cashier.

A POI system where the hardware and software components of the POI are concentrated in a single unit, connected to the Sale System through a retailer’s application protocol.

Clustered

A POI system where the hardware and software components of the POI are split among several units (POI Terminals and POI Server), and are connected to the Sale System as a device of the Sale Terminal.

Distributed

A POI system where the hardware and software components of the POI are distributed among several units (POI Terminals and POI Server), and form a Payment Solution separated from the Sale System (Sale Terminal, Sale Server), with clear interface and responsibilities.
