Introduction

The Agnos Virtual Terminal (AVT) is an Application that simulates an EMV Payment Acceptance Device running on a PC with PC/SC Readers.

The AVT implements the ACE2P Protocol to communicate with the ACE-Client through a TCP/IP Connection.

The AVT helps understanding how a Physical Payment Terminal shall be interacting with the ACE-Client :

  • for Training purposes

  • for performing single EMV Payment Transactions

  • for performing L2 Certification

  • for simulating a Sale System

  • for simulating an Issuer Host

  • for simulating a TMS

  • for taking advantage of the tools provided by the ACE-Client

ACE and Kizis are integrated through a specific protocol: ACE2P. That protocol shall not be used in production environments. It has been designed to support exclusively TA environments.

Key Advantages

AVT main advantages are:

  • Emulation: AVT behaves like an actual acceptance device that is L2 certified. It may be used to learn EMV concepts, to test cards or mobiles, to analyse interoperability issues, etc…

  • Flexibility: AVT uses the same API as an actual Agnos Framework integration project. It is possible to develop L3 applications and to test them outside a rigid embedded system before targeting a specific device

  • Comprehensiveness: AVT covers all CT and CT L2 requirements
