The architecture model used by Atheos Framework is Client-Server model.

Each instance of Atheos is composed of:

  • One Atheos Server,

  • One or several Atheos Gateways.

Atheos Server

Atheos Server is the main component of that is accessible to users responsible for terminal management.

Atheos Server comes with a user-friendly interface that allows the management POI parameters following EMV standard and Nexo-FAST 3.2 specification.

Atheos Server also provides a set of interfaces or APIs that extended terminal management services to external systems. See the Atheos APIs Guide to learn more about the available set of interface for terminal management.

Atheos Gateway

Each Gateway operates independently from others and provides a specific maintenance service such as:

  • Configuration, maintenance and monitoring

  • Certificate Management

  • Software Update

How to integrated a Payment Solution with Atheos?

Atheos leverages on the nexo TMS protocol that provides a standardized interface between a Terminal Management System (TMS) and a Payment System. The nexo TMS specifications are available on nexo standards web site.
